In our mission to teach 100 people how to knit a sweater in the new year we also wanted to take an opportunity to give back. We are pairing our Sofie Sweater Knit-a-Long with the Child Mind Institute to help spread awareness and funds to organizations supporting the mental health of children.
The Child Mind Institute helps children with flexible thinking during times of uncertainty and change. Additionally they have a family resource center with tools to help support children and parenting adults, and are working toward making mental health resources accessible everywhere for children.
“At the Child Mind Institute, we advance children’s mental health through compassionate and uncompromising clinical care, a revolutionary approach to the science of the developing brain, and wide-reaching public education and community programs.”
“Breaking Down Barriers in a Time of Crisis. The nation’s top experts in pediatrics and psychiatry have declared a state of emergency in children’s mental health. The Child Mind Institute is breaking down barriers to mental health care, resources and support for children and families.”
