In this class, we will learn how to put beautiful color on their white dye-ables. We will explore five different methods of folding, twisting, and binding to create specific patterns on our dye-ables. All of these methods are based on ancient dyeing techniques.
Class fee includes instruction and all necessary supplies, including dye, pre soak buckets, and bags to carry your project home.
**Students are asked to supply a few dyeable pieces- anything that is 100% cotton and white or light colored. (t-shirts, dish towels, socks, etc).
About the Artist: Jessi Highet is a textile artist, soft goods fabricator, and teacher from Brooklyn, NY. She studied textiles and clothing design at Parsons before going on to work as a fabrication artist and teacher. Her personal work is an experimental study of color and pattern through clothing, textiles, and illustration.
