Sherri comes from a long line of successful knitters, including her mother, whose pattern books are still a source of great inspiration. Although Sherri learned to knit at a young age, she left the craft when life got too busy and did not pick it up again until years later. The Third Piece is happy that she found her way back as Sherri has been knitting for us since our inception as a brand! These days, Sherri describes knitting as a “labor of love” and credits the Third Piece with keeping her on her toes.
“If I am not knitting for the Third Piece, you can find me in my backyard gardening or with my husband and children generally enjoying my home. I have a small, close family that I love to spend time with!”
You can find Sherri’s name stitched inside many of our Nantucket Scarves and some of our other, smaller pieces as she likes to take her work on the go to keep busy on her long Boston commute. Sherri not only knits for the Third Piece, she also knits for family members, friends and even for another friend’s side business. Somehow, she still manages to find time to knit for herself and credits the Jin Cardigan that she made in Citrine for many of the compliments she receives while out and about!
