It began with a scarf.
A simple idea to create a better way to experience fashion that grew into a movement about making and community.
Our Beginning
We wanted to make things differently.
At a time when fast fashion was booming, Third Piece began with a different idea: preserve the craftsmanship and human touch behind what we wear.
So we started close to home.
Working with local knitters in and around Boston, we produced small batches of hand-knit accessories.
Each one made by hand.
A little Boston brand that went places.
Our knitwear was carried by renowned fashion retailers including Henri Bendel, Bergdorf Goodman, & Shopbop before we opened a flagship store in Boston's South End.
AND THEN SOMETHING CHANGED
People wanted to learn to knit.
Our shop became a place to learn and gather. A way to discover what happens when you make something with your hands. It was through those experiences that we saw the power of knitting and the way it could bring people together.
